Basic knowledge, components, safety
In the third expanded edition of the book "Grundlagen Kfz-Hochvolttechnik", Martin Frei provides the required electro technical basic knowledge for automotive high-voltage specialists.
Starting with the overall dangers of the electric current, the author then continues with the actual principle of the high-voltage battery. He describes the effects, the single components and different charging methods. In addition, Frei talks about the high-voltage network in vehicle and among other things, explains terms like pilot line, interlock or potential equalisation. Activating, securing and checking of the high-voltage vehicle electrics are topics of another chapter which directly details the functions of electro motors and generators.
The second to last chapter focuses on the electro technical basics and components and delivers information about voltage control / about rectifiers and inverters as well as heating and cooling high-voltage components. New are the two chapters about fuel cells and about the 48V vehicle electrics. The book ends with the topic of qualifications for working on high-voltage systems as well as an overview of training offers.
Please note, this book is entirely in German!
